Here is a design that I admire in a purely artistic form. It is a wall piece that is purely for decoration, but I find to be a unique and interesting piece.  It is an image done by David Hockney where he has an image of a person sitting and looking into a camera.  Just that in itself doesn't sound interesting at all, but how he displays the piece is what makes it work.  He doesn't just take the picture of the person as a whole, he takes pictures of different parts of the person (some even overlapping areas) and then puts all the images together.  The piece itself comes out to be an abstract form of realistic images.  It is a concept that is unique to David Hockney and is his signature.  The fragmented imagery makes you really look through the entire image and appreciate all the details rather than if  he had taken one solid image of the person.

This piece here is a classic design that has been around for centuries.  This is one that cannot be improved on any more because...how can you?  This is a tea pot.  A tea pot is made to just boil some water, but the genius thing about it is the spout where it comes out of.  That spout is the whole reason for why I think this is a great design  The spout comes with a lid that has a tiny hole in the center of it.  The purpose of this hole is to inform you when the water is boiling because there will enough steam being produced that when it trickles out of the hole hard enough then it creates this high pitched noise that is hard to miss.  Then when you want to pour yourself a cup of hot water for you tea, all you do is lift the lid that's covering the spout and pour.  It's a very simple and functioning design.

I have always loved using nail polish, but doing the nails yourself has always been an annoying process.  The nail polish always takes a very long time in order for it to dry, and just when you think you've waited long enough to resume back to other activities you see a smudge on a few fingers.  It feels like all that time you spent on it was just wasted.  Then if you miraculously do happen to avoid getting your nails smudged, the polish starts to chip off within a few days to a week at the most.  The image I have posted is nail polish, but revolutionized; gel nail polish.  The beautiful thing about gel nail polish is that it never chips! The trick is the UV light where after each coat of polish you add you put them under UV light for 30 seconds then the job is done.  It's a much faster process than regular nail polish, you can resume to other things immediately after, and you don't have to worry about it needing a touch-up for up to two weeks.  Once you go to gel nail polish you really can't go back to the original thing.

This is a really great storage design.  It is a really simple idea that it actually a very practical one too.  This design doubles as two things in a perfect way.  It is a drawer that also acts as a bed.  The base of the bed is divided into four parts where each quadrant has its own separate drawer to allow you to put stuff in.  There are two drawers on each side, and when all drawers are closed the only thing you see left is a bed.  The perfect thing about this bed is that it allows you to make the most out of your furniture, it is probably one of the best space savers.  This was a piece that I got from IKEA, and definitely one of my favorites.

Here is a furniture design with a unique look to it as well as a hidden functionality side to it.  This coffee table is made for storage with a double-sided top.  It is split into four quadrants with a separate lid that goes on the top of each one.  Each lid can either be flipped to have a side with cushion or a side with a hard surface where you can place items like your drinks or food.  It is a functional design for a coffee table with a sleek look.

This a type of design that is made for your health and one that is at easy access.  It is a pull-up bar that fits perfectly to most door frames.  It is a way to try to easily fit in some exercise into your daily routine. The bar doesn't just give you one type of exercise, it gives you multiple options for your upper body.  The bar features five different grips that give you the option to target different muscles, and even doubles as a push-up bar when you place the exercise device on the floor.  The narrow design of the exercise device allows for easy storage as well.  All in all, this makes for a perfect to-go exercise design.

This is a very trendy and popular design.  It uniquely combines the idea of wearing a scarf that comes as hood too.  Even in the ends of the scarf are little pockets where you can put your hands in, which actually triples the item as being a scarf, hood, and gloves all at the same time.  The trendy part of this combustion is the theme of the scarf hood.  The brand name of this piece is called Spirithood.  The idea is that you become the spirit of a animal depending on which one you buy.  They have endless amounts of different animals you could be through this scarf hood from a lion to an owl.  The one pictured above is a cheetah.  This thing takes cat ears to a whole new level.  Its cute, comfy, and practical in the sense that it really does keep you warm.  Even the pockets that are doubled as gloves have an imprint on the inside to indicate that they are your animals "paws".
