If you have carpet at the place where you live, then you know how dirty it can easily get.  Shoes plays probably the biggest factor in this, so the obvious way to help keep your carpet clean is to pick a place to put them by the main entry door to your home.  Luckily for me, the kitchen is by my entry door (which is hardwood floor), and the carpet begins just to the right of what you see in the picture.  A shoe rack is a great design for shoe organization.  Also, keeping a shoe rack by the door gives a constant reminder to leave your shoes there so you don't forget to do it when you come back home.

This is a design by IKEA for your dirty laundry.  It comes as two separate bags that hang on a rack which serves the purpose of dividing up your white clothing from your colored clothing.  Each bag has a set of handles on them, so you can grab the bag easily and carry it to the washing machine.  The two bags save the trouble of having to later separate them, and helps prevent an accidental throw-in of a red sock into a wash with whites. The bags also come with an extension of it's material sewn at the top to act as a lid to go over the top of the clothes.  There is a little plastic weight that is on one side of the "lid" to ensure that it stays in its place.

Here is a design that doubles as a decoration and as a handy kitchenware.  To the left are measuring cups with the appearance of being owls.  To the right as measuring spoons where the end of the handle are various heads of cats.  The measuring cups (owls) all can be stored within the largest set, which gives it a practical way for storing.  I use the measuring tools all the time for cooking, so it's nice to have it set out for me ready-to-use while looking decorative all at the same time.

Here is a water bottle that has a unique and practical twist to your average water bottles. The design on the screw on cap (gray top) is what sets it apart from others.  This is a bottle that you don't have to open in order to drink.  All you have to do is push the orange button in the back, and there is an opening that appears in the drinking hole.  This is my favorite bottle to take to the gym, it's a quick and user-friendly bottle with a practical design to the cap for a faster storage.

When I moved into my new place, one of the things I had to adjust to was how I was going to organize all of my stuff.  Where to put all my clothes, and how I was going to fit everything was one of my struggles.  I went to the Container Store, and looked around to see what could help me.  After some searching, I discovered a product there that acts as a extra rack that can be placed on any door.  This allowed me to place all of my coats on the door, and gave the entire closet for all of my other stuff.  This design is a great organizational piece, and one worth getting if you are looking for a way to create extra space.

Here is my first choice of something I consider to be a good design.  It's something that I use and look at everyday: my desk/bookshelf.  This is something I got at IKEA, and have never been happier with it.  The desk itself has a decent size length, and a very spacious width.  The right side of it is attached to a bookshelf, which is one of the best parts about it.  I have all the stuff that I would need to look at right next to me when I'm sitting at my desk.  It's very sturdy, practical, and even pleasing to the eye.  The bookshelf gives my desk a sense of a semi-cubicle feel, which allows for me to focus on the task at hand.
